A Working Farm, Still

Tuffs Farm has been producing haylage since long before it had a website. For years the fields here were farmed by Roger and Mandy Pritchard, who supplied local equestrians with quality haylage for many years. Russell took over the farm in September 2023 and, while the farmhouse and cottages have found a new life as holiday lets, the land itself hasn't stopped working — the meadows are still cut, baled and wrapped right here, and the haylage still goes out to ponies in the villages around Chipperfield.

Meadow Haylage

Our haylage is cut from Tuffs Farm's own meadows and wrapped in six layers to lock in freshness and quality. It's a pure meadow hay — no rich ryegrass, nothing fancy, just honest local forage that's especially well suited to good doers and ponies who need to watch their weight.

What makes meadow haylage different? Unlike ryegrass haylage, which is bred for higher sugar and protein content to fatten cattle, meadow haylage comes from a natural mix of grasses and is lower in calories — making it a popular, safer choice for native breeds, good doers, and any pony prone to laminitis or weight gain.

Supplied in large bales. Stored on site, so it's available all year round — not just after cutting season.
